If you're going to come all the way from San Francisco to Vermont, you might as well stay awhile. Bay-Area band ViV has set up shop in the Green Mountain State for the better part of a week. The mini-Vermont residency began with a Sept. 14 appearance at the College of St. Joseph in Rutland and a show Sept. 15 at Green Mountain College in Poultney. ViV will stay in the state through Saturday to play a handful of gigs, including one Thursday at Nectar's and another Saturday at Johnson State College.

Viv which formed in 2001, is an American pop band with a distinctly east-side-of-the-Atlantic feel thanks to a Beatles-esque ear for melody. The quintet's second disc, "Flawed", released Aug. 29th, is jam packed with catchy, radio friendly tunes, and comes alive with the occasional rocker such as the hard-driving "Bob Dylan Said." Viv is aiming for an East Coast cult following with an ambitious tour of campuses in New England through mid November.
